Required Equipment

 

Avalanche beacon and probes

Shovel or snow paw

Communications equipment

Compass

Hand saw and knife

Rope

Flashlight and spare batteries

Whistle

Extra socks

Extra gloves

4 bottles of water (minimum)

Method of melting snow (for water)

“Overnight” clothes (additional layers)

Survival blanket or trap

Fire starting equipment (4 kinds)

High energy food

Snow melting pan

Hand tools, spark plugs, belt, and starter rope

Extra layers for all night and toilet paper

Long burning candle

SARC ID

10 gallons of spare gas

NIMS IS-700 or  ICS-100 training

 

Snowmobile proficiency test and

Avalanche beacon proficiency test

(administered by Snowskippers)

GPS basic user class

Field Operations training

Amateur Radio (HAM license)

PLB class

(required to be on each team preferably the team leader)
